Monday Mashup 2020 week 50

Week 50 of 2020 was a busy one, with the last F1 race of the 2020 season, drifting Aston Martins, some snowy content and a lot of other great things to look back at!

Powerslidelover snowdrifting in the Toyota Yaris GR

We'll start with two onboard videos, the first of which is @powerslidelover who drives a Toyota Yaris GR on snowy roads. Obviously there is some sideways action happening.

Tedward drives a BMW M3 in snow on summer tyres

The second snow video is less spectacular but maybe even more engaging. We love the POV content by Tedward. Normally he drives cars quite hard on backroads, but in this video he's trying out Michelin PS4 S tyres on snowy roads. Obviously he gets stuck, but you just get sucked into the adventure with the Point Of View video.

No place like roam

Ok, before checking out the video: go to Instagram and follow Brock Keen (@996roadtrip) because he is a legend. He has a Porsche 996 Carrera 4S with a rooftent and he takes it everywhere. He drifts the thing on beaches and in the snow, with the rooftent on top. Legend. Brock now made a commercial for Porsche's PCCM Plus infotainment system and we don't even care this video (it's also on YouTube) is sponsored by Porsche. Just check it out.

Also, Porsche, if you need another one of these videos: we have a black Porsche 911 996 sitting outside. You just need to sponsor us the PCCM and the rooftent. And those amazing foglights.

Stig drifts James Bond's Aston Martin DB5

Yeah, not really much to add here. If you want to see an Aston Martin DB5 going sideways, you should check out this video. It might not be an Aston Martin underneath by the way, keep an ear out for some BMW noises...

Ferrari Testarossa engine by Officine Fioravanti

An amazing engine photographed very nicely. We enjoy these kind of photos so much. This is part of a restomod Ferrari Testarossa project and it has received a little upgrade: it packs 500 hp and 600 Nm of torque. The photo was shot by Davide di Tria.

911 Overload at Porsche Yokohama

Shit, this makes us miss carshows even more. F*ck you COVID 19! For all of you Porsche fans out there: Speedhunter's Toby Thyer has some very nice event coverage at the Speedhunters website. Hat tip to Gijsbert for this one!

911 Overload At Exciting Porsche Yokohama - Speedhunters
Yes, I know, it’s inexcusable, but I do have a few excuses. So, when I saw Kouichi Kakuma’s Instagram post (AKA 911omomuki, AKA that Studio Allica Porsche) touting a huge Porsche event in Yokohama, the tummy turbo began to spool. I cleared my calendar and cleaned my camera gear. Sunday came around a…

Alonso drives his 2005 Renault R25 F1 car in Abu Dhabi

2021 Renault F1 driver Fernando Alonso got to drive his 2005 R25 F1 car around the Abu Dhabi track last friday. He did a nice interview on Instagram but we also have video from the F1 YouTube channel. Good to see Fernando did not take it easy on the fifteen year old car. Bring back V10's to F1! That's all.

Sebastian Vettel sings Ferrari a farewell song

We could post a lot of F1 content here. We will not post anything from the race in Abu Dhabi, because it was less exciting than watching paint dry. But there were some other things that were very nice to watch. The 2020 season was a crazy one for sure, as you can see in the season roundup we posted yesterday. And somehow you saw that in the drivers as well. There were a lot of emotions, especially with the drivers who are leaving the sport or switching teams. The best one? Sebastian Vettel singing to his team over the radio. In Italian. What a character.

Colin McRae fully sending it into a new week!

We'll round this up with Colin McRae flying in his Volkswagen Golf. We forgot about him driving anything else than a Subaru or Ford, but it happened. As you can see here.
